I was stationed with Master Chief at EWTGLANT. I was a Second Class Petty Officer at the time, and I remembered when Master Chief called me down to his office one day, and on my way there I was thinking, "O my gosh, what have I done now, why does Master Chief want to see me in his office." You don't understand, I was always in the Master Chief's office. When I got there, the look on his face was like you are about to get it "again". He said, " sit down" I sat down in the chair across from his desk and he just started to smile and said congratulation you made First Class Petty Officer and I'm so proud of you". From that point on there has been nothing but success for me, I was "Sailor of the Year" under his leadership. I'm now a Chief Petty Officer, a sister, and he will always be my brother, because of your straight and to the point guidance on my career path and for that, I will always be grateful. To his daughters, your father was a great man. He always talked about you two and how much he loved you. I was so hurt to hear the news. Words can not say how sorry I am. My heart truly goes out to his family.
