It's been a while back, so I don't even remember why we were going... but we went over to NNSY to set up something for one of the Safety guys and Paul offered to drive over there because he had stickers and could drive on base to get closer to my destination. (I didn't have stickers) I said, "sure". At first it caught me of guard at how nice Paul was to offer and it was a pleasant surprise. Like I said, I can not remember all the details of why I had to go over there, BUT for the rest of my life I will NEVER forget the ride over there with him. (Actually it was twice riding over there). We instantly "hit-it-off" as great friends. He made me feel like we'd known each other for life. What a blessing. We talked a little about anything and everything...sports, vehicles, family members, where we were originally from, and so much more. Right then and there I feel he took a little piece of my heart because of how REAL, genuine, and open he was. I am just SO sorry we didn't have a chance to hang out more. I would have really enjoyed sharing some time and drinking a starbucks with Paul. I am going to miss seeing his "silly" face (to make me laugh) when I go to the Safety Department and I will always think of Paul when I drive over to NNSY. Rest my dear friend.
