GLORY! Rev. Dr. Houston “Chip” Franklin Roberson, Jr., 60, of The Villages, FL entered into eternity with Jesus Christ on Tuesday morning, November 6, 2012 at Leesburg Hospital in Leesburg, FL after battling cancer. He was the son of the late Houston F. Roberson, Sr. and Mrs. Syble Brannan. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Brannan.
He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his loving wife of 35 years, Teresa Davis Roberson; his sons, Houston “Trey” Roberson and wife Mona; Benjamin Roberson and wife Sarah; and daughter, Claire Roberson; his granddaughter, Jasmine; stepfather, O.E. Brannan and his wife Wanda; sisters, Anne Mason and husband Richard; Holly Brannan; Kathy Howell and husband David; brothers, Eddie Brannan and wife Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and loved ones.
Dr. Roberson received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at University of Georgia, Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Seminary, and received his doctorate from Southeastern Baptist Seminary. His passion was to share Jesus with the world and he lived it out with a strong voice and a huge heart. During his ministry he served as a pastor to four Southern Baptist churches throughout NC and VA where he was used by God to profoundly & positively impact and touch more lives than we on earth will know.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, November 18, 2012 at 2 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 1832 Elbow Rd, Chesapeake with Rev. James A. Harrington officiating. The victory is won! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a note to the family.
