In the presence of her loving family, Ada Louise Olson went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 18, 2012. Born in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, on February 24, 1939, to George and Mayme Olson, she was the last of their seven children. Ada placed her faith and trust in the Lord as her Savior at the age of seven. She was a graduate of Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music. In 2008, Ada retired as a bookkeeper from Ter Horst & Renzemia Construction Company in Ada, Michigan. She moved to Chesapeake, Virginia in August of 2010. In recent years, she looked forward to spending the winter months with her friends in Lakeland, Florida.
Ada made it a point to celebrate with her family at every possible special occasion. She enjoyed socializing with many friends as she frequently traveled around the country.
Ada is survived by her two sisters Ebba Cothron (Alton Cothron) and Corrine Zacharias, 17 nieces and nephews along with their spouses, and a multitude of grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mayme Olson; sister, Velma Wright; and brothers, Enoch Olson, George Olson, Jr., and Ken Olson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, July 23, 2012, at the Graham Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Virginia. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the home of Pastor and Mrs. Steinman (105 Edgeware Court, Chesapeake, VA) Ada will be laid to rest in Restlawn Cemetery located in Muskegon, Michigan.
