Condolence From: MICHELLE GUINN
Condolence: Please forgive me if you are getting this second message. I typed a previous one, but I think I deleted it instead of sending. I am so sorry for your loss. I think it was 1975 when I first met Mike. He was a supervisor for one of the metal shops in Plant Services. I worked in building V-48. When Mike became a General Foreman, his office was in V-48. As the Division Director, he enterviewed me when I applied for the apprenticeship program, which I was selected for. He often talked about his family, and I remember him telling me about two (?) St. Bernards that you had. At the time I thought, how perfect...big dogs for a big man. Mike was well liked and respected. Again, I am very sorry for your loss. Cherish your memories. Michelle

Condolence: Beth and Kim:
I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We were first cousins. We didn't see or hear from each other much. The last time we saw each other was at my Mother's 90th birthday celebration. His Aunt Ida. He attended her 80th birthday also. She was very pleased and surprised at him donating five Bibles in her name after her 80th birthday. He talked about both of you and was so proud of you both. He will be missed very much in our family gatherings. Our deepest condolence goes out to you and your family.

Condolence: It was of sad heart I heard of your Dad's passing on Saturday. I wish I had had the opportunity to meet him, these lovely stories tell a story of a great man. However I knew he was wonderful from the admiration that "glowed" from you Beth when you spoke of him. God took another special angel to sit beside him in His glory. We may question the reasons, but he is in a place with no pain, and no worries of those things here on earth. May God bless you and give you strength during this difficult time.

Condolence: I regret hearing the news of Mike's passing, and was glad to see the family this evening. My father worked at the NADEP with Mike and my family knew them very well in the early days in Norfolk. Two thoughts came to mind this evening: I most remember Mike for being there for my father, especially when he helped build the den to our house on Winston Street. I also had a large cut on lip and my parents needed advice on whether to get stitches. Evelyn told them I would need between 6-8 stitches. Turned out I got seven. God Bless the Hodges family and we will pray for you all.

Condolence: Mr.Hodges was my neighbor for many of years before I got married and moved. He watched me come home from the hospital as a little baby, to riding my bike as a toddler, to walking to the school bus stop as a teen, to getting married and having children of my own. Every time I saw him, he was full of smiles and positive words. He loved his family very much! His two daughters were the light of his life. He was so proud of his girls and talked so lovingly about them! I now live in KY and am far away from my parents. When Dad was out of town for work, I always knew that Mr. Hodges was next door keeping an eye out for my mom and that he was there if ever she needed him. He is now in heaven dancing with the Angels and he's able to hug Jesus whenever he wants, how great to know what a wonderful place he is in now! Heaven has gained a wonderful Angel! We will miss you Mr.Hodges until we all reunite again under God's loving arms.

Condolence: For the family of Mike, I would like to let you know that he was a real good Christian man. I enjoyed working with him at Oceana. We were good friends and he always talked about how much he loved his girls. Mike loved the Lord, his family and his friends. He was well thought of and respected by all that knew him.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to Mike's family. Mike worked with my father, John Vanderploeg, and has been friends with our family for many years. I also live one street from Mike and have enjoyed many conversations throughout the years. I know how important his daughters were to him, and I hope that good memories ease the pain of your loss. My thoughts and prayes are with you.
