I first met Fenton Wicker at Tidewater Pastoral Counseling Services in 1987. He was lecturer for me and my two fellow Chaplain Residents at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. He taught several course segments but the one that stands out to me was "Chaplain as Person" where he underscored the importance of Chaplains to embrace the significance of incarnational ministry in facilitating healing for Sailors and their families. His love for Navy families and joy in teaching us was genuine, kind and always growth inspiring. His impact lives on for me and I have passed on to many.
