CHESAPEAKE-- Yalaunda L. Avripas, 87, passed away January 13, 2008. A native of Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Tillie Harris and the wife of the late Cordus Avripas. She was a member of Grace Baptist Temple, the Order of the Eastern Star and retired as a payroll clerk with the Chrysler Corporation.

She is survived by her daughter, Diann Boutwell; a son, Joel Avripas and his wife, Virginia; a sister, Sufrona Harris; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Temple, 1101 Burns Street, Chesapeake, with Pastor Jim Neeson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.
