CHESAPEAKE—Walter Barham, 75, of the 2900 block of Elbyrne Court, died April 2, 2004 in Chesapeake. A native of Franklin, VA, he was the son of the late Fletcher Lee and Maggie Hatfield Barham. He was a retired punch operator with Tidewater Steel.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lola Hackett Barham; two daughters, Lisa M. Cook and her husband, Robert of Norfolk and Irene K. Sparrow and her husband, John of Bedford, VA; two sons, Ronnie E. Barham of Chesapeake and Jason L. Barham and his wife, Michele of Norfolk; six grandchildren, John P. Sparrow, III, Elizabeth M. Sparrow, Amber N. Sparrow, Melinda A. Cook, Michelle T. Cook, and Dalton J Barham; one great grandson, Jonathan A. Cook; and seven sisters, Betty Anne Musick, Alice Wingfield, Essie Morgan, Mary Cuthrel, Joan Jones, Bernice Loveland, and Pearl Pruitt.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with

Dr. Fred King officiating. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the family. Friends may sign the guest register at www.grahamfuneralhome.com.
