CHESAPEAKE—Vernon William “Billy” Culpepper, Jr., 63, of the 100 block of Gainsborough Square, died July 23 2005 in Chesapeake. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of the late Vernon William Culpepper, Sr. and Muriel Norris Culpepper Roberson and was a member of Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, Virginia Beach. Vernon was a former crane operator with the City of Chesapeake. An avid walker, who loved the Lord and his church, he especially loved meeting the people from all across Chesapeake during his walks.

He is survived by a niece and nephew and was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Wayne Culpepper.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road with Rev. Eric Roecker officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. They wish to express their deep appreciation to Elizabeth and Jim Toler, Barbara Young and George Kirby for their love, compassion and selfless devotion throughout his life.
