Fun Times

I first met Robbie when I was just 14. He lived across the street from us on Emmons Place in Cradock. He'd entertain neighborhood friends with his amazing harmonica playing. We also enjoyed listening to him sing all his favorite southern rock and blues songs. Boy, could he sing! So talented! He expressed an interest in my older sister, Carla, and she was so shy and reclusive I was happy that he took an interest in her. It didn't take him long, with his charming ways, to bring her out of her shell. She blossomed because of him. They were wed and had their beautiful daughter, Jennifer. Of course, no relationship is perfect and I won't glamorize him in death and say that he was. Their relationship may have ended, but Carla thought fondly of him even years later. My sister and I are both grateful for the fun, smiles and laughter Robbie brought to our lives. Those are the memories we choose to cherish. Rest in peace, Robbie. Your smile and voice will never be forgotten.
