CHESAPEAKEMarjorie White Overton, 81, of the 200 block of Hall Drive, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2005 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of Walter Braxton and Sallie Luter White and the wife of the late Arthur R. Bunkie Overton. She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church and the Womans Club of South Norfolk.
She is survived by a grandson, Arthur R. Overton, III of Aurora, NC; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Randolph Randy Overton.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk with Dr. Scott Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions should be made to the Building Fund of South Norfolk Baptist Church, 1101 Chesapeake Avenue, Chesapeake, VA 23324.
