VIRGINIA BEACH—Margaret Whitenack Benton of the 1000 block of College Park Boulevard in the 86th year of her life died June 22, 2005 in Norfolk. A native of South Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Aubra H. and Elmira Elizabeth Blanchard Whitenack. She retired as a purchasing agent with Norfolk Naval Supply Center and was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Virginia Beach.

Surviving are two daughters, Anne Shaver and her husband, George of Charleston, SC and Kay Bess of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Ashley S. Cohen and her husband, Steven; Blake Shaver and his wife, Janet; Kimberly Rabidoux and her husband, David; and Marlyn Fabrizio and her husband, Michael; six great grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, and Paige Rabidoux and Grant, William, and Mia Fabrizio; two nieces, Edwina Naujoks and Nancy Smink of Virginia Beach; and two nephews, Donald Whitenack of Charlottesville and Ronald Whitenack of Newport News.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. John W. Cole, II officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial United Methodist Church, 804 Gammon Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the CVT and PVSU units of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
