Chuck and Ann, was saddened to hear the news of your mother’s passing. I am glad that Anne and I had a chance to have lunch and such a good visit with her in August. She was a wonderful Aunt to me, Steve, and Martha throughout our lives. There are so many fond memories of her at the many family events in years past. She was always positive, so interested in our lives, and so generous. Our family shares a deep loss with you but rejoice that Gene is in Heaven with Christ Jesus. Bobby

Chuck,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I enjoyed some of the stories your told me about her on your recent trip up here to Roanoke. You and your family are in the thoughts and prayers of Jennifer and myself.

Chuck, my heart goes out to you today...it is always hard to lose one's mother, probably the closest relationship we all have.
Gene was a very special lady...in our eyes, consistently smart, savvy and contemporary. When I came into the Dail clan, she welcomed me with open arms. We were always 'away' during our Army travels yet I remember she was so faithful to send Christmas cards and letters to keep up connections... such a lost art these days. My fondest memory of your mom was how every year she thoughtfully gave Amy, Betsy and Katy small toys or gifts on Christmas when they were small-she never forgot. Her death is a sad loss in the heritage of our whole family. We send our prayers to you as you walk through these next few days.

Chuck, Anne, Caleb & Family, we are so sorry to hear of Ms Gene’s passing. Our thought & prayers are with all of you all. She was such a Special Lady & Special Friend who loved the Lord. She always had a big smile on her face & loved to laugh. Ms Gene & my Mom, Sarah Nell Gibson Holland went way back. I believe once she moved to Portlock as a child they became friends & always went to church together. Today I imagine they are together in Heaven dancing for Joy. We will always remember our dear Friend Ms Gene.
