Lona Honoree  Jeter
Lona Honoree Jeter, 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2018. She was born in San Antonio, Texas to the late Carl D. and Mary Taylor Riley. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 35 years, Elmer Reed Jeter; granddaughter, Megan Jeter; and sisters, Sonia (Barbara) Alvis and Connie Friend. She graduated from DePaul School of Nursing and continued her education earning her master’s degree in nursing from ODU. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and the beach.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Reed (Chris), Bruce (Donna), Tom (Katie); grandchildren, Randy, Ashtyn, Erin, Matthew, Caitlin, Thaddeus, and Charlotte; one great grandchild; special brother-in-law, Wyatt Friend; nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10am at Saint Stephen, Martyr Roman Catholic Church with burial following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends the evening before at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake, VA from 6 – 7:30pm. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff who has cared for mom over the past several years.
