Obituary for James "Richard" Richard Casper
James Richard Casper, Sr., 86, passed away December 16, 2016. Richard was born in Eure, NC to the late James and Ida Eure Casper. He worked as a Chesapeake City Bus Driver for 3 years, drove for nineteen years for Trailways Bus, and retired after twenty years with Preston Trucking. At Preston, Richard became a three-time member of the "Million Mile Club". He was a member of Rivercrest Christian Fellowship Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 6 years, Jessie Casper; daughters, Brenda White (Jim) and Shirley Roache; step-daughter, Reba Ackiss (Guy); grandchildren, John Ackiss and Adam White; eleven great-grandchildren; constant canine companion, Punkin Casper; and extended family including the employees of the Battlefield Shoney's.
The family will receive friends at Rivercrest Baptist Church, 1510 Campostella Road, Chesapeake, on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. with a service to celebrate his life to begin at 7 p.m. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence to the family.
