Chesapeake- Ira R. Kiederling, 53, beloved husband, father, grand-father, and Marine, passed away April 9, 2014. He was born in Old Bridge, New Jersey to the late Robert and Jean Kiederling. As a devoted family man and husband, Ira was known for his voice of reason and compassionate heart to help friends and family. He will always be remembered for his great wit and desire to share his knowledge and facts of life. As a Marine he served our Beloved Corps for 20 years retiring in 1997 as a First Sergeant of Marines. He had a term of endearment for riding motorcycles and traveling the byways with his wife Jean along with his closest of friends who shared countless memories and never ending laughs.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 27 years, Jean Lancaster born in Philadelphia PA; son, David; daughters, Heather Secrist and Melissa Bullock & husband Talmage; grandsons, Angel and Zakkai Kiederling and granddaughter, Reagan Secrist; also his brother Bruce Kiederling & wife Mary; brothers and sister’s in-law & families; “brothers” from other mothers & families (Todd, Gene, and Charlie); co-workers at NNSY, Code 135; and countless extended family and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Sat., April 12, 2014 at 4 pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ira to the Semper Fi Fund.org, CFC#11459.
