CHESAPEAKE- Hattie Hall Smith, 74, of the 1200 block of Wingfield Ave. passed away June 1, 2009 in Norfolk. A native of Woodville NC, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Clarah Harmon Hall. She retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as a telephone operator, and was a member of the Hardees Breakfast Club.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Warren “Frank” Smith; a grandson, Charles William “Chuck” Vogt and his wife, Elaine; two great-granddaughters Ashley Victoria Vavrek-Vogt and Sara Marie Vavrek; and a brother, Sam E. Hall. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn Vogt.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy.
