Gordon Allen  Peebles II
VIRGINIA BEACH-Gordon A. Peebles, II, 71, passed away February 9, 2014. He was born in South Norfolk, VA to the late Gordon A. “Jack” and Louise Peebles. He was a lifetime member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church and attended Rock Church. He was a graduate of Oscar F. Smith High School, was employed with US Gypsum for 27 years then later retiring in April 2006 from Kempsville Building Materials after 18 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing in the 60’s, detailing cars, wrestling, football and he loved his dogs.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn Waters Peebles; sister, Roberta Peebles Morrison; niece, Kim Wollett (George) and their kids, Luke & Jessie; nephew, Scott Morrison (Valerie) and their kids, Michael, Ty & Kaleigh; best friend, David Bailey (Cindy) and numerous other family and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on February 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home with Rev. Amos Eby officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank Allzwell Assisted Living and Medi Home Health and Hospice.
