VIRGINIA BEACHGeraldine Woods Sanderson, 75, of the 5800 block of Pontiac Road went to be with the Lord on Monday. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Vedie Randolph Patrick and the wife of the late Roy Lenard Sanderson, Sr. She retired after twenty years as an office manager with J.C. Penny, and was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a daughter, L.F. Sandie Sanderson Friend and her husband, John of Beaverdam, VA; a son, Roy L. Bo Sanderson, Jr. of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Brooke Wesley Friend; a grandson, John McIlwain Friend and his wife Tonya; a special cousin, Wanda Sumpter and her husband, Scott; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Kelly Burris officiating. In place of viewing and visitation, the family will receive friends following the service at Mrs. Sandersons home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Sunday School Class, c/o Kempsville Baptist Church, 5204 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
