We were so saddened to learn of Mel's passing and want to express our heartfelt sympathy to his loving family for their loss.

What a joy Mel was to know and work beside. From the time I first met him on the route truck with 7 Up and I with Canada Dry, to the day he became my immediate boss at 7 Up ... even to the day I left the soft drink business, Mel was an absolute joy to work beside. During my time at 7 Up Mel was the sales manager and I the key account manger and so worked closely together. During that time I had the opportunity to really get to know and appreciate Mel. He loved his family, he loved his job and he worked tirelessly to excel at being the best he could be. He loved to have fun and had an uncanny ability to make those around him laugh even when you didn't really feel like laughing. It is said that a true leader makes everyone around them better and Mel did that for all of us. My father who passed a number of years ago probably jumped for joy to see Mel arrive.

God Bless you Mel Feagans and I am certain Heaven just gained a new member who has the Angels laughing out loud.

Mel was a huge influence on my career. I worked for Mel at 7-UP back in the eighties and I can honestly say he is the one that taught me how to sell. He was the best salesman I have ever known. He was also a great person. He would take the time out of his busy day to help me with any personal issue I may have had. I am so glad I got to have lunch with him last year to see him and laugh with him one last time. RIP Mel.

In loving memory of “Mel Feagans” - It is with heartfelt love and prayers “It was an honor to know this intelligent, kind, compassionate, empathetic, and mostly humorous man!!! Mel was my boss at 7-Up for the 7 years I worked for him. They say in life “Some people come into your life for a short time and some a lot longer.” I truly appreciate Mel being my long time friend. My favorite memory of Mel is his story telling ... never really knew fact from fiction! I will miss you dear friend! Mel really knew how to build a person up!!! I will truly miss our long talks and you always making time for me on my travels to Virginia. Just 2 summers ago ... “Here comes Mel walking out onto the beach in Virginia Beach to greet my family fully dressed in his suit!!!” That’s Mel Feagans ❤️🙏❤️ RIP

Knew Melvin as a cousin. Pat Linkous and Lou Feagans were my aunt and uncle. He came to my parents funerals years ago and he was so kind to me. It seems like the only time we got together was a family member's funeral but I always remembered him. My condolences to his family that he was so proud of and always talked about when we met up. I know he will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Mel's passing. I worked with him at 7UP for years and he was well known in the grocery business throughout the Tidewater area. He had "the gift of gab" and always had something funny to say. He cared about the people he worked with and was well respected. Condolences and prayers to the family .
