Doris Gray Smith, 87, went home to be with the Lord September 19, 2012. She was the youngest daughter of Edward and Mattie Gray. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who dearly loved her family. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was a faithful member of Elizabeth River Baptist Church. She served in Children’s and Women’s Ministry for many years sharing the love of Jesus.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years Wallace E. Smith; daughters, Karen S. Crawford and her husband, Steve of Albany, GA and Sandra S. Siler of Chesapeake; granddaughter, Andrea Goff and husband Patrick of Macon, GA and great-granddaughter, Ella Goff of Macon, GA .
A service to celebrate her life and homecoming will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 am at Graham Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Saul officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 pm.
