Obituary for Mary Agnes Sanders Skurski

CHESAPEAKE- Mary Agnes Sanders Skurski, 66, passed away October 4, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. Mary was born in Richmond to the late Jack and Virginia Ames Sanders. She was a member of Warsaw United Methodist Church, Warsaw, VA; and an educator with the Richmond County Public Schools. Mary loved life, she was a lady who enjoyed shopping, the theater and symphony, and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She had a huge heart with a selfless and giving nature, Mary was a loving and devoted mother and wife. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. The grandchildren lovingly called her "MeMe".

Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband of 19 years, CDR Paul Roy Skurski, USN Ret; daughter, Jacqueline Allen Strange (Jeff); step-daughters, Judith Eileen Cozart (Jerome), Darien Marie Pearce (Grayson), Diane Renee Murray (Steven); grandchildren, Ellie, Meredith, Jake, Grayson, Mason, Parker, Steven and Jordan; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service. A service will also be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, 16340 Kings Highway, Montross, VA at 12 noon. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
