Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to have worked with Mr. G back when it was still the Maritime Forecast Center and it is hard to imagine the Weather Center without him. He was a great mentor to me and is one of the biggest influences on the officer I am today. He was an amazing man who was never afraid to voice his opinion bluntly and directly; and I absolutely admired him for it.

Condolence: Dear Debbie and Family,

My heart goes out to you all on the passing of Ken. I know how much he meant to you all as a husband and a father.

To me, Ken was a "True Friend." He was the kind of "Man" I was looking for to show my son how to treat his wife and his family. The conversations we had were great and I will truly miss him. I am proud to say, I was his friend.

Stay Strong and God Bless,
Lowell G. Evans

Condolence: Deb and Family, when I learned of Kens passing, I wrote something down and want to share with all of you. My deepest sympathies, my thoughts and my prayers are with you.

I got news today that a man passed away yesterday. He was a family man from Texas. He lived everyday principled and committed, a man you could trust with your most sacred possession or secret. He served this country proudly, honorably and was stationed on board the USS IOWA BB-61 on that fateful day in April of 1989. He was my neighbor when I lived in Va Beach.
We both had retired in the early 90's and we began working at the same little store down at the oceanfront. That's when I got to know him real well. Quiet and humble and a sense of humor that would surprise you. A work ethic rarely seen and was a big part in the success of a rundown dealership that turned around.
A rare individual that you could not find anyone, not one person, that would or could speak ill of this man. My heart goes out to his family as I am sure they know just how special he was.
Ken Ghormley, as you passed the stormy seas towards the pearly gates, may you, on the rest of your journey have fair winds and following seas, my friend.
You will be missed.
