Obituary for Kathleen Mary Cunningham

Kathleen "Kathy" Mary Cunningham, 69, formerly of Harrison, returned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 29 (2016) after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was a devoted and doting mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Kathy was born on Nov. 4, 1946, in Marshall, to George Calvin Green Sr. and Finley E. (Fuller) Green. She attended Tennessee Tech University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelor's Degree in home economics and a minor in chemistry. She was educated and trained at the University of California in San Francisco as a Tumor Registrar. While living in Harrison, she worked at Claude Parrish Radiation Therapy Institute where she was revered by many patients and their family members for her compassion and genuine concern for their well-being. Kathy was a member of Beta Upsilon and served on the Ozark Mental Health Board. She was widely known in the Harrison area for her creative and artistic "dough" Christmas ornaments.
Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert and Malissa Fuller, of Harrison and Ethel Russell, of Bellefonte; her parents, George and Finely Green, of Marshall; her brother, George Green, Jr., of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her grandson, Jace Cunningham, of Harrison.
She is survived by her son, Chris Cunningham, Brownsville, Tennessee; her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Sehorn, of Chesapeake, Virginia; her three grandsons, Powell Cunningham, of Harrison, and Finley and Teslie Sehorn, of Chesapeake, Virginia; and her granddaughter, Madalyn Sehorn, of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Visitation with the family will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Fellowship Hall of the First Christian Church in Harrison, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathy's life.
