Eileen Borerro Weidman
Grace, Kimberly, Olivia, and the entire Spear family, I am so very sorry for your sudden loss. I share your profound sorrow. I knew Joe as Joey Spear in high school, and we’ve kept in touch over the years through Facebook. Joe was the kindest person with the biggest heart. He genuinely cared for people. He wasn’t afraid to let people know how he felt, and he communicated his feelings so eloquently. When any of our mutual friends were feeling down, he always had something encouraging to say to lift them up. He lifted me up so many times with his sweet words. He was also very witty. Just last week, he told me to behave myself. His last words to me reflect his light-hearted personality and spirit. Joe was a loving, compassionate, gentle soul who saw the good in everyone and always had nice things to say about others. He left a lasting gift for our high school class. He built a Facebook page so that we could come together to share memories and pictures of the old days. On that very site, we have come together in deep sadness to mourn for Joe, a loving father who adored his girls and a true man of God. I am so very blessed to have known him.
