Ellen Kriss McDaniel, 74, passed away July 11, 2014. Ellen was born in South Norfolk,Virginia to the late Arthur and Helen Kriss.
Ellen participated in several community organizations such as, Blue Star Mothers, Woodman of the World, and she volunteered at The Brian Center Nursing and Rehabilitation of Statesville, North Carolina. She retired from JC Penney Distribution Center in 1997. Ellen was an active member of the Mount Harmon Lutheran Church. She was dearly loved by her friends and family and will be sorely missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Lynn Kriss Heim, Dawn Renee Dixon, David McDaniel, and Millie McDaniel Guy; Grandchildren, Alea Michelle Hays, Anna Lee Harris, Devan Austin McDaniel and Hunter Michael Selby; Great Grandchildren, Kaden Walter Hays, Landon Wayne Hays, Fenix Trinity Harris, Jackson Thomas Hays, and Serenity Faith Harris; Siblings, Arthur Kriss, Rosemary Farrow, Norma Sue Gray, and Janie Johnson. She was preceded in death by her sister LouAnn Hammer and her brother Martin Kriss.
