Condolence: Dearest Uncle Larry,
As what I’ve told you in writing, verbally, face to face and now taking to you in spirit remain unchanged.
In behalf of my entire family, once again words can not adequately express our enormous debt of gratitude of all the things you’ve done for us. You checked my parents everyday, you made sure everything is in order and functional at home. In short you’ve spoiled them including my sister. Because of your dedication, patience, persistence she is now confidently driving her own car.
You’ve always told me you won’t live long like my mom & dad. Now, doorbell won’t ring in the morning, “Lovely Day” greetings ended, your voice will be unheard, no more “Are you okay. Everybody okay? Is the house okay? Are you sure? Tell me I’ll look at it. I’ll fix it.” your golden and generous heart stopped beating, your hard working hands are now at rest. I will certainly miss and long for the informatively intelligent conversations with you when I come home to Virginia Beach with your ½ cup of coffee. He liked calling it yak yak yak. Thank you for sharing your life and your family with us.
Jacque and David you have a super smart father. He was a man of principle. What an impressive brain. Anything, any subject under the sun you can talk to him. His best trait was being selfless. He took pleasure of giving and was uncomfortable receiving.
Both of you were part of our talk. He unconditionally loved the two of you. He was a proud father of how you two become. He was swollen with pride when he shared me his grand daughter will be graduating in college. I told him you have a strong reason to fight for you to witness completing her degree. For sure, on her graduation he will be there with his joyful spirit. To his precious grandson Taylor, he deeply cared and loved you. You are extra special to him.
Let me end telling you want LARRY means. It stands for, Lovingly Attentive/Always Ready to Rescue the young and old. Now, it is your time to be rescued. God wanted you now; He set you free. God rest your soul.

We love you and will miss you dearly.

Tita Baby, tougher days are yet to come. We are here with you in sunshine and in shade. And with Uncle Larry’s memories will never die. He will remain in our hearts.

Condolence: One the earliest memories that I have of Larry is walking with me the mile to and from school. He watched out for me and, as his little sister, I looked up to him.
Larry demonstrated his mechanical talent at an early age. Christmas Day was hardly over before he started taking his new toy apart. He was always interested in what "made it tick." Eventually he developed the ability to put things back together (much to the happiness of the rest of his family). As a teenager; he branched out to electricity and had a lot of fun making "shocker" boxes which his unsuspecting little sister would be cajoled into opening and getting a jolt of electricity. I FINALLY wised up. He actually built a Dune Buggy type car in high school shop and even took his nerdy little sister for rides.
Many of us have been the beneficiaries of his mechanical talent. If it was broken, he could most likely fix it. He spent many hours in the shop that he built repairing junk vehicles and giving them new life.
He joined the Navy right after high school graduation and made one good-looking sailor. It was always exciting to see what he brought to us when he came home on leave from the foreign ports. He brought me my first bikini from France; but I was too embarrassed to wear it. The skills that he developed as a Machinist Mate in the Navy lead to a career in his later years.
I remember him as a young father tossing Jacque in the air and changing David's diaper and mixing their milk--one liked chocolate and one liked strawberry.
My children remember getting rides on his motorcycle and the Christmas money that ended up in the toe of their Christmas stocking every year.
I think the best decision that he ever made was to marry Baby and subsequently be included in her large and loving family. Larry would not have lived as long as he did were it not for Baby.
Larry definitely "walked to the beat of his own drummer." To say he was a character would be putting it mildly; he was who he was. One of the qualities that I admired about him was his generosity. He was not overly attached to material possessions and willingly shared with others--both his time and his money.
He was the ultimate tease and always had a witty comeback; he had a running joke with us about fish heads--don't ask. The three hour time difference worked well for him so he loved to call us early Saturday morning and thought it was really funny to get us out of bed.

Larry,
All your pain and grief is over,
All the restlessness has passed;
You are now at peace forever,
Safely home at last.

Good-bye, big brother!
