CHESAPEAKE- James Jerry Rogerson, Sr., 69, of Moyock, NC, went to be with the Lord, November 9, 2012. He was born in Martin Co., NC to the late William and Daisy Rogerson. He served his country in the United States Air Force, was an engineering assistant at Verizon for 43 yrs, attended Fellowship Baptist Church and had a strong love of fishing, especially off the Lynnhaven Fishing Pier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 yrs, Phyllis Brooks Rogerson; sons, James Jerry Rogerson, Jr., Wayne Christopher Brooks (Melanie) and C. Brian Brooks (Michele); daughter, Tracey Elizabeth Kupka (Douglas); grandchildren, Jay, Stephen, Corey and Olivia; brother, William L. Rogerson, Jr. (Helen); sisters, Joan Rogerson Jones (Ron) and Daisy Mae Guy.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with Pastor James Harrington officiating. Burial will follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
