PORTSMOUTH-Preston Leon Best, Sr. of Mimosa Rd. on October 18, 2012 breathed his last and was gathered to his people.
He was born in Eufaula, OK on February 23, 1934 to the late Mable Inez and William Grant Best. He retired from the Virginian Pilot as a machinist. He was a chartered member of the Tidewater Bluegrass Association and a member of Windsor Hunt Club.
Leon is survived by his sons Preston Leon Best, Jr. (Penny), William Stanley Best, Sr. (Cheryl) and Michael Ray Best (Dawn). He has six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren plus many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake with Pastor Tom Mercer officiating. A private interment will follow.
