John Eddie Nelson, 73, passed away October 10, 2012. He was a Senior Chief serving his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam; later retired from Norshipco and Dodd RV. Besides his parents, Clifford and Mable he was predeceased by his step-father, Oscar Thompson.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Joan F. Nelson; daughter, Joanne Campbell and her husband, Archie; son, Michael Nelson and his wife, Terrie; grandchildren, Joshua Campbell and Kayla Marie Nelson; sister, Judy, Harmon.
He will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Virginia State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home on Sunday, October 14, 2012 from 3 to 5:00 pm. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.co to leave a note to the family.
