Obituary for Lee Roy Pace

Lee Roy Pace
Lee Roy Pace, 88, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather joined his beloved wife of 70 years, Nora Dalton Pace in God’s heavenly choir on September 14th, 2012. God has called one of his good and faithful servants home.
Lee Roy “Country” Pace was a strong, bible believing man of Christian faith who was kind, gentle, supportive and forgiving to all people he met. Lee Roy was a founding member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was ordained as a Deacon Emeritus for his years of service and testimony for the church. He was a passionate man who enjoyed automotive work having become a legend in automotive body and fender repair while employed by Kline Chevrolet and Cavalier Ford for over 50 years. He never turned away from helping his friends and spent a lot of time restoring and repairing antique automobiles for himself and others. He enjoyed his membership in the Tidewater Region Antique Automobile Association and being with these friends as they toured in their classic antique cars.
Dad was extremely proud of his children and worked hard during his lifetime to provide for his family in the best of ways. He is survived by his sons, Gaston Pace and his wife, Brenda, Barry Pace and his wife, Gayle, Joe Pace and his wife, Pam, David Pace and Lisa, and daughter, Elaine Pace Bymun and her husband, Roger. He also leaves to cherish his memory nine grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the hospice and nursing staff at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital for their wonderful care of our Dad and the many kind deeds they did for our family during our vigil at his side.
A service to celebrate Dad’s life will be held Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at 11 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 717 Whitehurst Landing Road, Virginia Beach with Dr. James Baker, officiating. He will be laid to rest beside Nora at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
