Harriette Long Smith, 97, of South Norfolk went to be with the Lord September 10, 2012. She was one of five children born in North Carolina to the late William G. and Sally Manning Long. Besides her loving husband of 66 years Charlie R. Smith; she was predeceased by her sisters Ruth Miller and Margarette Smith; a brother, Carlton Long; and son-in law, Shannon Pigott. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God and former member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon S. Karibian and Linda S. Pigott; brother, Harmon E. Long and his wife, Ann; sister-in-law, Inez Long; and several nieces and nephews.
She and her family greatly appreciate the loving care of her companion, Treva Knotts, and the faithfulness of the South Norfolk Congregation Christian Church visitation ministry.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11 am at Graham Funeral Home with Pastors, Amos Eby and Todd Hodges officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm.
