John Palmer Bunn, Jr., 85, went home to be with his Lord September 22, 2018. He was born in Bailey, North Carolina to the late John P. Bunn, Sr. and Mrs. Maggie Bunn Lamb. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a son, Larry Bunn Nealon, son-in-law, Paul Leparik and foster daughter, Donna Alderman. John retired as a food broker; he was a former member and Boys Sunday School Teacher at Fairview Baptist Church and for the past 30 years he was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church. John served as a deacon and was a member of Gideons International.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Kovacs Bunn; sons, John P. Bunn, III (Cherie’) and C. Jeff Bunn; his daughter, Dr. Teresa Bunn Leparik; son-in-law, David Alderman, Sr.; grandchildren, Maralei Bunn, John P. Bunn, IV; Paul Leparik, II, Alexandra Leparik, Ashley Leparik, David Alderman, II (Gabriella), Michelle Alderman, and Daniel Alderman; and a great-grandson, Tony; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, 1000 Crowell Ave, Chesapeake with Rev. Shannon Terhune officiating. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Graham Funeral Home will be caring for arrangements. The family will receive friends following the service.
