Harry Gray Joyce, Sr. (82), passed away on August 3, 2018, at home peacefully. Harry was born in Mount Airey, NC; he attended the old Norview High School in Norfolk. He married Carlyn Borjes on January 6, 1955 in Norfolk. Harry served in the United States Airforce. He retired as a Weighmaster from Atlantic Cement Company after 35 years. Harry was involved in community sports (THE COACH) for many years. He was an usher and Deacon Emeritus at Rosemont Christian Church and was the official church hugger, Harry was loved by everyone and treated everyone with kindness, respect and a Friendly Smile. Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Joyce and stepmother, Bessie Camp Joyce.

Harry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carlyn Borjes Joyce; sons, Harry G. Joyce Jr., Michael G. Joyce and wife, Teresa, and Richard C. Joyce and wife, Elaine; grandchildren, Dawn Smith and husband Matt, Christopher Joyce and wife, Rachael, Emily Hannah and Jeremy Joyce; his sisters, Sharon Rion and husband, Bill, and Candice Gregory and husband, Bruce; great grandchildren, Olivia, Lorelei, Kennedy, Vivian and Tenley.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 6 to7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark T. Gorgans and Rev. Amos Eby officiating.
