Obituary for William Lacy Paul
William “Bill” Lacy Paul, 91, of Chesapeake, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4th, 2023. He was born on March 1, 1932, in Bath, NC.
Bill was a wonderful man of faith, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed assisting others, always with a warm-hearted smile. “Thank you” was a phrase he offered freely.
Bill was a member of Kempsville Christian Church. He was employed by the Norfolk and Portsmouth Beltline Railroad. Following retirement, he discovered a passion for driving vehicles for automobile dealer’s inventory exchange.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Erma. Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Debbie Byrd-Ellis (Bryan) and Patty Marlow (Quintin); grandchildren, Chris Cochran (Christy), Lacey Eisel (Chris Williams), Adam Byrd; great-grandchildren, Savanna Cochran, Kinsley Eisel and Kamden Eisel; extended family and lifelong friends; and special neighbor, Betty Fulford and her fur baby, Jax.
The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mauser and the staff at Suncrest Hospice, (Brad, Danielle, Bernadette, Drew, Grace, Alexis, Fanta), for their loving compassion and true professionalism.
