Obituary for William Todd "Billy" Bright Sr.
William Todd "Billy" Bright Sr., of Virginia Beach, VA passed away on August 11th, 2022 in the comfort of his home, with family by his side.
Billy was born on April 29th, 1966 and grew up up in Norfolk, VA where he graduated from Norview High School. He played football at Norview and was fondly known as the "Norview Hulk." After graduation, he went through the NNSY apprenticeship and continued his career there. He just retired with 38 years of service.
He was a member of the Rappahannock tribe. Billy also spent a lot of time at the Mattaponi reservation with family. He was very proud to speak of his heritage with everyone.
Billy loved to be by the water - in it, on it or near it. He especially enjoyed fishing with his wife and children. He loved music and was a big Elvis fan, so much that he'd often dress up as him for Halloween. He enjoyed board games, collecting rocks, traveling to the Bahamas, Grand Canyon and Memphis with his family, antiquing with his girls, Marie and Krista, listening to Blue play his guitar and shooting pool with River.
Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Ellen Bright and his father, Louis McCarroll Bright. He has left behind his loving wife of 28 years, Becky Marie Bright. His daughter and baby girl, Krista Marie Baker of Chesapeake, VA and his sons, William Todd "Blue" Bright Jr. and Chase River Talon Bright of Virginia Beach, VA.
A celebration of life will be held with Deacon Rick Matthews officiating on Saturday August 20th, 2022 at 2PM at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd., Chesapeake, VA.
