Obituary for Wanna May "Peggy" Williams

Wanna May "Peggy" Williams , 90, passed away July 4, 2021. Peggy was born locally in South Norfolk, Virginia to the late Roland and Sarah Brothers Dillon and was one of 12 children. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of South Norfolk and currently a member of Wayside Baptist Church. Aside from being a homemaker, and the mother of two children, she retired from the City of Chesapeake Public Schools working in the cafeterias. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She was known for her baked goods especially during the Christmas holidays. Her favorite thing to make was her famous "pecan sandies”. Peggy loved to take a variety of classes ie: cake decorating, candy Easter eggs, afghans, painted sweatshirts and decorative wedding/anniversary candles. Every time Peggy took one of the classes her family and friends benefited the most from them. She enjoyed making things and then she would always give them away to the family and friends.

She was a member of the Niner's Senior Club and the Red Hat Society. Peggy also loved the sense of adventure and loved to travel. One of her most memorable trips was to Israel to see the Holy Land. She has also traveled across country stopping along the way to visit Graceland, the home of Elvis, the Grand Canyon and parts of California. She has also visited Hawaii, Disneyworld and a birthday weekend spent in Las Vegas. (what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas)
