Obituary for Vivian Esther DeJarnette

VIVIAN ESTHER YOUNG DEJARNETTE responded to the call of the Lord Jesus Christ, Come, Vivian. Enter in! on March 13, 2021 at the age of 94 concluding a long and blessed life.She was born in Fireco, WV to the late Andrew and Clydie Phillips Young and was a life-long resident of Virginia Beach. Vivian was a founding member of Bayside Presbyterian Church and an active member of Kempsville Presbyterian for nearly fifty years. She was a founding staff member of StoneBridge School in Chesapeake. In the words of her oldest grandson,Vivian left a positive influence on everyone she met in life winning the love of her vast family and many friends. She achieved success in the banking industry where she was a member and speaker for the American Institute of Banking. She served various roles in the Norfolk Presbytery, was a Girl Scout Leader, and a member of the Eastern Star. Her delight was teaching the Bible in the women''s ministries of her church. Her greatest joy in life was her family: two daughters, Carole Adams (John) and Colleen Lucas (Frank);three granddaughters, Kristen Arnold (Shane), Carey Woodruff (Jeremy), Marina Cardoza (Michael) and two grandsons, Matt Adams (Angee) and Drew Lucas (Shannon);nine great grandchildren, Tyler Adams, John Thomas Adams, Shelby Sellers, Ryan Adams, Reece Adams, Sofia Dudkovsky, Abby Lucas, Renatta Dudkovsky, Grace Lucas; a great-great grandson, John Jaxon Adams; her sister, Bonnie Reid, and her many nieces,nephews, and a host of friends. Vivian''s life will be celebrated at Kempsville Presbyterian Church at 805 Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, 23464 on Saturday, March 20 at 2:00pm. Rev. Bruce Anderson will officiate. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the StoneBridge School Building the Future Campaign is suggested as a tribute to Vivian DeJarnette''s legacy.
