Obituary for Vivian Outlaw Brown

Vivian Janice Outlaw Brown, 82, passed away in her home March 18, 2020 with her family by her side. Vivian, known as “Monkey” by many, was born in Grandy, NC to the late John Wilton Outlaw and Maudie Perry Outlaw. She was a homemaker who loved her family, gardening, animals, and God dearly. Vivian was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. She fought a long, hard battle with Alzheimer’s disease for the past ten plus years and did not give up the fight easily, which is not too surprising to those who knew her and her strong-willed nature.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Dayton Brown; daughter, Darlene Pinner (Hal); son, Tony Brown (Dottie); four grandchildren, Rave Brown, Kyle Pinner (Rachel), Mark Brown (Somer), Jamie Trower (Nicholas); six great-grandchildren, Kenly, Olivia, Jessie, Ellie, Wyatt, Dayton; two wonderful caretakers who have become like family, Rosa and Dorothy; and numerous other family and friends. Vivian was predeceased by a brother, Calvin Outlaw, and a sister, Addie Evans.

She will be laid to rest in a private family service at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Graham Funeral Home will be caring for arrangements. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to leave a condolence or memory for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your local SPCA
