Obituary for Virginia Theresa Tomko

Virginia Theresa Tomko, 95, went to be with Jesus on April 27, 2021. Virginia was born September 15, 1925 in Greenfield, MA to George and Edna Lee.

Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband James, her parents and two sons Michael and James. She leaves behind her loving daughters Patricia and Donna, daughter in law Lydia whom she thought of as her own daughter, grandchildren Jessica (Husband Stephen), Meghan, Dylan, Christopher and Michael and 2 great grandchildren Mycah and Sawyer.

Virginia had a passion for helping others and was a block captain for 40 years, for the American Cancer Society as well as the Heart Fund. She also worked at the Salada Tea Factory in Boston before becoming a housewife and mother. For the past 60 years, she was a Eucharistic Minister and Usher for the Little Creek Amphibious Base Catholic Church as well. Virginia had a love for animals and her beloved pet Sasha will miss her greatly, along with her grand pups Abbie, Moka and Norah.

We have truly lost a beautiful woman; her selfless heart and kind soul will be missed by many.

We would like to thank the doctors and staff of Sentara Leigh for their loving care during this difficult time.

Services will be held Wednesday May 5, 2021 at 11:30AM at The Little Creek Amphibious Base Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name, to a charity that was very close to her heart: The American Cancer Society or the SPCA.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
