Obituary for Valre Jean "Val" Fuller

Valre Jean Fuller, 77, of Virginia Beach, left this world for the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Born on September 27, 1944, in Champion, Ohio, Val lived life to the fullest. Her greatest passions in life were her love for her Saviour, her love of teaching and her love of music.

A long-standing member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, Val used her talents through the years to teach a women's Bible Study and to play the piano for the Senior Choir.

After receiving her degree in Elementary Education from Mt. Union College in Ohio (and later a Master's in Guidance Counseling), she taught elementary school for 43 years - many of those years at Fairfield Elementary in Virginia Beach and the last 17 years at the Montessori Laboratory School in Chesapeake.

Embracing her love of travel and spreading her joy through music, Val has spent the last 17 years as part of the Up Tempo Duo, a part of Up Tempo Entertainment. Along with long time friend and co-worker, Marietta Carr, they have thrilled audiences not only across Virginia but in Florida and Ohio.

Val is survived by her brother, Earl Belden of Ohio, and a myriad of friends who will miss her smile and her up-beat personality.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 14th at 1 PM in the Sanctuary of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, 1861 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
