Thomas “Tommie” D. Golt RMC USN Retired
Tommie of Fleming Island was 84 years old when he joined our Lord on May 1, 2023. Tommie was born in Dover, DE. He was preceded by his loving wife, Roberta “Bert”, his parents Hulette and Margaret, brother Richard, sister Maryanne and companion Louise. Tommie served honorably and retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Radioman, as well as being a Vietnam Veteran. Upon completion of his military service, he continued to serve our nation in logistics for the government until his civilian retirement. Tommie enjoyed bowling. He served as the President of the Norfolk Bowling Association and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. Tommie is survived by his children; Jimmy (Diane), Jill (Michael), Kevin (Catherine) and Tammy; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Tommie and Bert will be laid to rest together at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. on Tuesday, May 23 at 1.00pm.
