Thelma "Mimi" Louise Albertson Barefoot, 96, entered her heavenly home January 18, 2019, at home with her children at her side. Thelma was "fearfully and wonderfully made," born and raised in South Norfolk at 1530 Jackson Street to the late Lonnie and Jessie Bundy Albertson. She was the loving wife of the late Jasper D. Barefoot, her lover for 60 blessed years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Susan Hubbard (Charles) of Tallahassee, and Beth Barefoot of Boston; sons, Jim (Jo), Ken (Kathi), and Mike (Debbie) Barefoot all of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; brother, Calvin Eugene Albertson; and a host of other family and friends, including numerous former Sunday School and Vacation Bible School students of hers.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Virginia Beach First Church of the Nazarene, 4413 Wishart Rd, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends beginning at noon. She will be privately laid to rest next to her loving husband at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
