Taska Overman McCaw Holland
Taska Holland, born June 29, 1932, passed away quietly in her sleep on Friday, March 3rd, just a few months short of her 91st birthday. Taska is predeceased by her parents, George Overman and Beverly Siegel Overman, and her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Helen Overman, and her best friend Nina Colbert.
Taska retired from the City of Norfolk Finance Department.
Her favorite times were the family vacations at Lake Gaston and the Outer Banks. She loved spending the weeks with her growing family over the many decades. What fun and crazy times we had!
Anyone who knew “Nana” knew what a beautiful, funny, quirky, hip, witty, fun, and amazing woman she was. She will be missed greatly and will be forever in our hearts.
Taska is survived by a large loving family; her daughters Cindy Miller (Terry) and Terri Chamblee (Gary), grand children Jason Miller (Becky), Adrienne Matthews (Lawrence), Amy Thomas (Grant), Nicole Jemiola (Ricky). She is also survived by her very good friend Lois Thomas. Her seven great-grandchildren include Ashlyn Miller, Noah Miller, Molly Matthews, Madison Matthews, Logan Thomas, Carly Jemiola, and Caitlyn Jemiola.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Westminster Canterbury Hospice at Home, especially Casey, Jackie, Dawn, Ashley, and Laurie. You were all a blessing the last year and a half of her life.
We also wish to thank Hearts at Home Elder Care for being a part of her
last chapter. A special thanks to Dee, Liz, Tiana, and Kim.
The family will celebrate her life in a private gathering.
