Obituary for Susan Sands Redford (Sands)
Susan Sands Redford, 68, passed away on 09/01/2021 peacefully at home in Chesapeake VA surrounded by family.
Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of Byron and Helen Sands. She was a 1970 Graduate of Great Bridge High School. Susan had a successful hair salon business located in Great Bridge that also branched out to include tanning services and manicures. She later earned her Interior Design degree in 1990.
Susan enjoyed the water, walking the beaches, dancing, spending as much time with her family as humanly possible and basically any activity that allowed her to be outside in the sunshine. She was a loving, personable, and extremely funny woman and a friend to all that had the opportunity to meet her.
She is survived by her first love and dearest friend Larry Worley, her “girls” Heather Dempsey (Aaron Dempsey) and Michelle Sawyer (John Sawyer), grandchildren Tyler Jones (Emily Jones), Morgan Worley (Shayn Evans), Riley Dempsey and Eli Sawyer, 4 beautiful great granddaughters, brother Norman Sands (Debbie Sands) and sister Valerie King (Eric King) along with numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents, Byron and Helen Sands and her sister, Linda Gruchacz.
