Obituary for Sue Flippin

Sue Flippin, 87 passed away August 30, 2021. Sue was born to the late Walter Lee and Minnie Jane Beasley Martin. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Charles Noel Flippin. Sue was passionate about hair, at the age of 13 she started working in a salon as a shampoo girl. She later received her cosmetology license and eventually ran her own salon, Sue Flippin Hairstyling. Sue was a member of the Eastern Star for many years and loved supporting her husband in the Shriner’s Club. Later in life she became the owner and operator of Flippin’s Trading Post in Blackwater where she lived and met many of her wonderful friends. Sue had a passion for the Lord spending many years in service at her Church as a youth leader, Sunday School teacher and mentor. Her favorite pastime was being a mother, grandmother, friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Ninah Pearson (Jeff); grandchildren, Abbi (CT), Jeffrey, and Amelia; great grandchildren; Braelyn, Brantley and Brooks; siblings, Jackie; and a host of other family and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. She will be privately laid to rest beside her husband at Albert G.
