Obituary for Sharon Ann Vaughan Faville

On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Sharon Ann Vaughan Faville, left this earth to be with her beloved soulmate and husband Bill. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Sharon is predeceased by her parents, Wallace and Bettie Vaughan, brother Wallace Vaughan Jr., sister Claire Knowles, and the love of her life William Faville. Sharon was born December 15, 1951, in Norfolk and was a lifelong resident of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. She shared a unique and unbreakable bond with her sister Deborah and deeply cherished her brother- in-law David. Also left to mourn her loss are her younger sister and brother Barbara Lloyd and John Vaughan.
Sharon’s passion in life was her family, and survivors include her adoring children: Jim and Kassy Bander, Holly and Jim Marx, Jen and Jon Murphey, Michael and Tricia Bander, Scott and Jessica Bander, Amy and David Bowden, and Lori Bryant. She was Nan to 12 precious grandchildren: Tyler, Heather, Kylie, Lauren, Eric, Cole, Aiden, Anthony, Chloe, Kennedy, Ethan, and Ava. She loved and cherished all of her numerous nephews and nieces, each of whom she treated as one of her own.
During her 30-year career in nursing, loving her HUGS Ladies, her Martinsville travels, and adopting her neighbors, Sharon developed lifelong friendships that turned into family.
Sharon taught us all how to love and how to live. Through adult Easter egg hunts, over the top Christmases, her grandchildrens’ plays, recitals, and sporting events, girls’ trips, family dinners, drunk shopping, daily phone calls, and family dance lessons, Sharon’s infectious zest and love of life prevailed. Family was everything and she made strangers feel like family. She embodied unconditional love and selflessness. She held our hands through marriages, divorces, jobs, graduations, illnesses, bereavement, babies, and teenagers. She filled a room with her spirit and her laughter, and if she loved you, you knew it and considered yourself so lucky to be a part of her wonderful world. Her children pledge to raise our own children with the same loving spirit she instilled in us and forever make her proud.
Services will be held at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10 am. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 6-8 pm. She will be privately laid to rest at Rosewood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gail Parkins Ovarian Cancer Research at Duke University or to Hope for Life Rescue in Virginia Beach.
