Roy Oswald Sorey, 93, passed away May 27, 2022. Roy was born in South Norfolk to the late James and Ruth Simpson Sorey. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, Arnold Sorey, James M. Sorey, Chester D. Sorey; and son, Gary Lee Sorey. He served his country in the Army National Guard and was a Merchant Marine. He retired from Carolina Freight as a shop foreman and mechanic and was member of Providence Evangelical Friends Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 71 years, Audrey Harlon Sorey; daughter, Linda M. Ostroski; sons, Roy E. Sorey, Bobby D. Sorey, John S. Sorey, Gary L. Sorey Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake on Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 10-11am and a service to celebrate his life will begin promptly at 11am.
