Obituary for Ronald Kenneth Bruce
Ronald (Ron) Bruce, 67, of Virginia Beach, VA went to be with the lord on January 13, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois on November 9, 1955 to the late Rev. Richard J. Bruce and Betty Bruce.
After graduating from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in 1977, Ron joined the Navy in 1983 and served eight years as a lieutenant. He worked numerous years at HQ in Norfolk, VA and then went to Home Depot to work as a kitchen designer for over 16 years before being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Emily McDaniel Bruce of Virginia Beach, VA; Brothers, Richard Bruce and wife Cathy of Charlotte, NC and Jim Bruce and his wife Ginger of Rocky Mount, NC along with nieces and a nephew.
The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice of Virginia Beach and Lisa's Residential Care for the wonderful care they gave Ron.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 11-12PM at Kempsville Baptist Church 5204 Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, VA. A service will follow the visitation at 12 PM at the church, followed by a committal service at Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
