Obituary for Rodney Wayne Spruill Sr.
Rodney Wayne Spruill, Sr. , 81, passed away March 17, 2021. "Wayne" was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late William B. and Josephine Davenport Spruill. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his loving wife, Lois Todd Spruill. Wayne proudly served in the United States Army and retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 32 years service. He was a longtime and active member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Melvin "Skip" V. Liverman, III (Wendi) and Rodney W. Spruill , Jr. (Wynter); grandchildren, Chris, Mark, Beth, Jake, Madelyn, and Jacob; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary B. Spruill (Chris) and Sue Gordon (Glenn); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Sr. Minister Kirk Dice officiating.
